I'm going to continue to sketch without much photo references and post this week. last weekend was Roxbury Open studios and I made connections to someone willing to help me display my work. I've been figuring out ways to illustrate the American issues of obesity and class warfare waged by the rich against the poor. I don't want to work on idealized and romanticized figures at this point. Or portraits of celebrities and politicians. I am now really looking at the masses and whaere the country is heading.
I also want to continue addressing the death penalty and black men and cultural signifiers. I haven't been able to post images yet because of camera issues but will soon. There's a lecture series next month I want to attend with guest speaker Valerie Plame and her husband. Costly but I want to get many sides of a storyline as I'm working through this project.
