Warriors in battle

Tentatively I want to do a mural of professional wrestling or the history as a tribute to my dad, the Mason family and especially my grandfather. Having given a sports painting to wrestler Nature Boy Ric Flair and hadving had former WWF champion Bruno Sammartino sign the scroll i'm working on, I like the interactions I've had with these larger than life heroes of my youth. I have investigated other artist like Leroy Neiman who did many Sports illustrated paintings from the 60's to now. When I was a kid I remember meeting Larry Johnson and marveling at his caricatures and illustrations of sports figures in the Boston Globe.  Above is a wrestling painting from the M.F.A. that's at least 100 years old and below it is my charcoal study of Jack Johnson  on exhibit at the Piano Factory. I definitely want to keep my thoughts and ideas on the blog so I can document and not forget ideas I'm working on.
