Alex Melamid

When it comes to the art by other people  I also can't help but think about Russian painter Alex Melamid's (b 1945) work.  His portraits of hip hop artists are amazing and powerful. This Social Realist artist from the Soviet Union really keeps it real in his portraits of great hip hop stars.
